The icons are actually a customized version of the Lynx Black icon theme to blend better with the Ubuntu Studio design.

I think it's a testament to its design and feel that I've barely even changed it since.

The biggest change is probably the dock at the bottom, as I went for the original build isntead of the curved one, mostly since the curved look will be fully integrated soon.

Though have you seen the new look for Ubuntu Studio? I'm kind of disappointed they didn't got for the grungy look.

Not yet. I install Ubuntu 8.4 week ago, when I get more free time I'll install ubuntu-studio package to see it.
